Two persons were booked under the Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972, for abusing an Indian python during an event at ATS HomeKraft Happy Trails Society in Sector 10, Greater Noida. The incident, which took place on October 6, was caught on video and sparked outrage after it showed one of the accused forcing the snake’s head into his mouth and clamping its jaw between his teeth. Following the intervention, the python was rescued and released into the wild.

Drive to get rid of garbage points

New Delhi: MCD Mayor Mahesh Kumar, along with Deputy Mayor Ravinder Bhardwaj, held a high-level review meeting with the Deputy Commissioners of six municipal zones to assess the progress of efforts aimed at eliminating garbage vulnerable points (GVPs) across the city. The meeting focused on strategies to tackle GVPs, which are areas where garbage tends to accumulate and contribute to sanitation issues. He directed the Deputy Commissioners to monitor the GVPs twice daily and instructed them to send photos after cleaning the points each morning and evening. “We need to step up our efforts to ensure that these points are cleared and kept clean,” Kumar said.
