BJP MP and convener of the Delhi Pradesh BJP’s election manifesto committee, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, announced that free schemes such as 200 units of electricity, 2,000 lt water, and bus travel for women will continue if the party wins the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Additionally, the BJP plans to enhance these facilities and introduce the Ayushman Bharat scheme in its first cabinet meeting.Addressing a press conference on Monday, Bidhuri dismissed AAP claims that the BJP would discontinue free schemes. “Arvind Kejriwal and other AAP leaders are spreading a false propaganda. I want to assure Delhiites that these facilities will not only continue but will be implemented more effectively to benefit the public,” he said.

Bidhuri criticised the current administration for the poor quality of essential services, alleging 40 per cent of Delhi residents did not have access to clean water. “The Delhi Jal Board's own data shows that 2,500 out of 7,500 water samples failed quality tests. To top it, people are being charged exorbitantly for residential and commercial water connections,” he added.

Suggestions sought

To launch a public outreach initiative from December 7, with 14 video vans traveling across all districts to collect suggestions.

Pointing out at the power tariff rates charged from consumers, he said, “Domestic electricity is priced at Rs 9 per unit, and commercial rates are as high as Rs 17-18 per unit—the highest in the country,” he stated.

Highlighting deficiencies in public transport, he claimed, “Kejriwal had promised 15,000 buses, but not a single bus has been added to the DTC fleet in the past decade. The 1,600 electric buses currently on the roads are a central government initiative.”

Bidhuri outlined the BJP’s manifesto preparation process, emphasising inclusivity. “We will consult all sections of society, including youth, women, senior citizens, traders, and religious and social organisations, to create a comprehensive roadmap for Delhi,” he said.
