BJP has got a taste of its own medicine: Saurabh Bhardwaj
New Delhi, February 20
Commenting on the recent actions of seven MLAs from the BJP who moved the High Court challenging their suspension from the Assembly, Delhi Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said, “The BJP is getting a taste of its own medicine.”
These MLAs were suspended for allegedly interrupting L-G VK Saxena’s address during the remainder of the budget session of the Delhi Legislative Assembly.
Bhardwaj stated, “The seven BJP MLAs who have approached the Delhi High Court are holding up a mirror to the BJP. In the last few days, 146 Opposition MPs have been expelled from Parliament. Our MPs Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chadha have been expelled from Parliament on grounds of creating chaos. They were informed that they would remain suspended until the issue is decided in the privileges committee.”
The BJP MLAs, including Mohan Singh Bisht, OP Sharma, Anil Vajpayi, Abhay Verma, Ajay Mahawar, Jitender Mahajan and Vijender Gupta, were marshalled out after they repeatedly interrupted the L-G’s speech during his address on February 15, where he praised the AAP-led government for its achievements.
“Likewise, now that these MLAs have been expelled, and they’re claiming that this action is ‘unlawful’, it implies that what Jagdeep Dhankhar has done to Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chadha and other Opposition MPs is also unlawful,” added the minister.
Bhardwaj said, “The BJP MLAs have approached the High Court, holding mirrors to their own leaders. This is a significant day and a major victory for democracy.”
