Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi today said the Arvind Kejriwal government has put the governance model of Delhi on “ventilator” by focussing solely on its “publicity, drama and scams”.
‘Always missing’
One can always see that every time you ask questions related to law, adherence to law and order and regulations, one finds that everywhere they are missing in action. — Meenakshi Lekhi, Union Minister
Addressing a press conference, Lekhi asserted, “The Delhi excise policy is the biggest scam that one can think of.” She also hit out at Kejriwal for skipping the ED summons and asked Atishi to tell people when the Delhi Chief Minister would appear before the probe agency to answer its questions.
“One can always see that every time you ask questions related to law, adherence to law and order and regulations, one finds that everywhere they are missing in action,” she added.
Lekhi also criticised AAP’s unfulfilled promises in healthcare, stating, “They promised 9,000 prime health centres and instead the current condition is that most of the already established centres are closed.” She further highlighted deficiencies in healthcare infrastructure.
She labelled Kejriwal a ‘drama king’ for avoiding ED summons and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi as an ideal for facing trials, referring to the 2002 Gujarat riots case during Modi’s tenure as the Gujarat CM. She stated, “PM Modi sat for 12 hours answering questions of a special team investigating the case.”
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva joined in the criticism, alleging deterioration of health services during the AAP’s tenure. Alleging corruption in mohalla clinics, he highlighted deficiencies in healthcare facilities.
Regarding the Jal Board scam, Sachdeva stated, “Raids by the ED at 12 locations associated with the Delhi Jal Board have confirmed BJP’s allegations of corruption.” He sought Kejriwal’s resignation, emphasising his past role in the Jal Board.
Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly Ramveer Singh Bidhuri, echoed similar sentiments, calling for Kejriwal’s resignation over the Jal Board scams.
