BJP, AAP doing election stunts on pollution: Congress
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Devender Yadav called for urgent measures to combat the escalating air pollution crisis in the capital, criticising both the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for what he describes as ‘election stunts’ rather than effective solutions.
Yadav pointed out at the dust emanating from roads as a primary contributor to Delhi’s soaring pollution levels, a concern echoed by the Lieutenant Governor in a recent letter to Chief Minister Atishi. “The AAP Government has not taken this issue seriously, failing to address the state of our roads,” he stated. He emphasised that the persistent health issues faced by residents are a direct result of the Kejriwal Government’s negligence over the past decade.
Commenting on the recently announced 21-point Winter Action Plan by Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai, Yadav remarked, “While the plan includes initiatives like real-time monitoring of pollution hotspots and mobile anti-smog guns, the reality is that the air quality has only worsened, with the Air Quality Index remaining in the ‘very poor’ category.”
