Batth appointed nodal officer to tackle encroachments
The Haryana Government on Tuesday appointed District and Town Planner RS Batth, currently posted on deputation with the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), as nodal officer to restore government property and remove encroachments in all areas of Gurugram city.
Arun Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary to the Haryana Government for Urban Estates and Town and Country Planning, has appointed Batth as the nodal officer in Gurugram to oversee the removal of illegal encroachments. His mandate includes clearing encroachments from public spaces such as roads, green belts, market areas and government land owned by the Haryana Shahri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) and the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG).
Batth will also address critical violations in building and layout planning within government and private colonies.
According to the order issued on Tuesday, officers from the HSVP, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) and the MCG’s enforcement wing, along with the District Town Planner (Enforcement), will assist Batth in enforcement activities and in clearing encroachments under their respective jurisdictions.
Batth, known for his honesty and boldness, has recently led several high-profile anti-encroachment drives in Gurugram, successfully reclaiming government lands and restoring green belts.
