ADGP Saurabh Singh is Faridabad Commissioner of Police
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Saurabh Singh, IPS, assumed charge as the new Commissioner of Police (CP) of the district on Friday. He succeeds OP Narwal, who has been transferred after a brief tenure of three months. Singh is the first ADGP-rank officer to be appointed as CP in the district. According to sources, officers of Inspector General (IG) rank or above are eligible for such appointments.
Upon his arrival at the office, Singh was accorded a guard of honour. Addressing mediapersons, he emphasised that maintaining law and order would be his top priority. He highlighted a special focus on women’s safety, the security of vulnerable sections and enhancing crime control measures. He also assured the delivery of good governance and justice at various levels within the department.
Before this appointment, Singh served as ADGP, Southern Range, Rewari. Over the course of his career, he has held key positions, including SP, in several districts, DCP Gurugram, Commissioner of Police Panchkula, IG-STF, IG-Crime, IG-Security and IG-IRB. A recipient of the Police Medal in 2018, he was promoted to the rank of ADGP in October last year.
The ceremony was attended by DCP Headquarters Abhishek Jorwal along with officials and personnel from various units of the police department.
