A book , “The Delhi Model: A Bold New Road Map to Building a Developed India”, authored by senior AAP leader Jasmine Shah was launched today in the presence of former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal. Senior AAP leaders including CM Atishi, former Delhi CM Manish Sisodia and Satyender Jain were among others present at the book launch. The book describes the approach and outcome of policy reforms undertaken by the AAP Government in the National Capital in six sectors-education, health, air pollution, transport, electricity and water.

It also draws a road map for building a developed India by leveraging principles of the Delhi model. Kejriwal said that AAP addressed the issues of people which they deal with every day.

“This is not about the Delhi model of governance. It is about the AAP style of politics. Successive governments had failed to address the core issues of people like improving the quality of healthcare and education,” he said. The former Delhi chief minister said that the AAP was founded by those people who were not from political families.

“During the tenure of former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit a narrative at state and national levels on privatising the schools was on. A narrative was built that the government cannot run schools. We proved that the government can run schools and hospitals efficiently,” Kejrwal said. He claimed that Delhi is the only region which has round-the-clock electricity supply. He said that the Delhi model of governance could be replicated across the nation.
