5 schools in Delhi-NCR receive bomb threat mails; 6th incident in 11 days

At least five schools in Delhi-NCR—four in Delhi and one in Noida—received bomb threat emails prompting security agencies to conduct a search operation. However, nothing suspicious has been found so far.

A Fire Department official said that they received the first call from DPS, Dwarka, at 5.02 am, following which one fire tender-cum-rescue vehicle was immediately dispatched to the spot.

A police team, along with bomb disposal and dog squads, immediately reached the school and searched the entire premises.

Even as the search operation was under way, three more schools—Krisna Model Public School in Jafarpur, Vishal Bharti in Paschim Vihar and Ekta Model School in Najafgarh—too raised an alert about receiving a similar threat.

According to senior officers, multiple Delhi Police teams were searching the school premises.

Meanwhile, all the classes have been shifted to online mode.

In Noida, Lotus Valley International asked the parents not to send their children to the school due to “an emergency situation”.

“...the school will remain closed today, and those who have boarded the buses are being sent back home. Please ensure they are received at home. We regret the inconvenience caused, but this decision was taken, keeping in mind the safety of the children,” a message sent by the school to the parents read.

Notably, Delhi has been grappling with back-to-back bomb threats since early this year with the latest one being the sixth incident in the last 11 days.
