The Delhi Police busted another international drug syndicate by arresting two foreign nationals and their local accomplice with 563 gm of highly purified cocaine valued at Rs 3.3 crore in the international market, police officials said on Friday.

According to the police, a team from the Narcotics Detection and Recovery (NDR) unit of the Crime Branch, RK Puram, launched an operation after receiving a tip-off about a Nigerian supplying narcotics in Delhi and the NCR.

Acting on the tip-off, a raiding party was formed to arrest the suspected drug peddlers.

On September 27, the team arrested a Nigerian, identified as Joshua Amarachukwa (30), a resident of Sunlight Colony in Ashram along with his cab driver, Vinit (24), a resident of Sriniwaspuri.

During the search, the police recovered 257 gm cocaine from Amarachukwa’s possession. Further investigation revealed that Vinit was his regular driver and assisted in delivering drugs to customers across the Capital, the police said.

“Amarachukwa disclosed that he worked under the instructions of another Nigerian named Mike, who supplied him with large quantities of cocaine to sell in smaller portions across Delhi and NCR,” said a senior officer.

On information provided by Amarachukwa, the police tracked down Kone N Golo Seydou, alias Mike (27), a resident of Sector 33, Sohna. He was arrested soon after, and the police recovered 306 gm of cocaine from his possession.

Mike, who came to India on a business visa, confessed to bringing 2 kg of cocaine from Nigeria two months ago, which he had been selling through a well-established network in Delhi-NCR.

“Mike only sold the drugs to customers he knew or those referred by previous clients. His network was highly organised,” added the officer.

Amarachukwa arrived in India in 2021 on a medical visa and had been living in Sunlight Colony. He met Mike at a Nigerian kitchen in Vikaspuri, where he was lured into the drug trade. For every delivery, Mike paid him Rs 1,000. The third accused, Vinit, a cab owner, allegedly helped Amarachukwa by providing transportation, assuming that the presence of a taxi would not arouse police suspicion, an official said.
