2 juveniles held for crushing man’s face with stone in fatal dispute
The Delhi Police arrested two juveniles for their alleged involvement in the murder of a 37-year-old man, who was killed by having his face crushed with a stone following an altercation over a matter of nature’s call, police officials said on Tuesday.
The deceased, identified as Surender (37), son of Ramprakash, was a resident of Kumhar Mohalla, Tekhand. His body, found near the railway line in Okhla early on Sunday morning, had severe injuries to the head and face, apparently inflicted with a stone.
The police were alerted about the incident on November 24. During the investigation, officers reviewed CCTV footage from the crime scene area and identified a suspicious motorcycle near the location around 11.51 pm on November 23.
The footage led the police to track down the riders, Vikas and Vimlesh, both residents of Tekhand village. The duo told police they had heard screams and witnessed two persons fleeing toward Allah Mohalla.
Based on this lead, the police further analysed CCTV footage from Allah Mohalla, which helped identify the two juveniles. “Using local intelligence, our team swiftly arrested the accused,” said an official.
The accused, both teenagers and residents of Allah Mohalla, are natives of Bihar.
“During interrogation, the juveniles admitted their involvement,” the officer said. They claimed they had gone to the area to relieve themselves when they encountered the victim. An argument ensued over the use of the space, escalating into a physical altercation. Both sides threw stones, and eventually, the juveniles overpowered Surender, inflicting fatal injuries.
The juveniles crushed Surender’s face with a stone, ensuring he succumbed to his injuries before fleeing the scene.
