Delhi records year’s lowest AQI
New Delhi: The air quality index (AQI) in the Capital was recorded at its lowest of the year at 56, with the air quality in the “satisfactory” category for the entire first week of July, according to monitoring agencies. Delhi’s AQI was under 100 for seven days in June and has improved further due to the weather in July. PTI
Nigerian shot in outer Delhi
New Delhi: A 40-year-old Nigerian national was shot by two men in the Nilothi Extension area of outer Delhi, the police said on Sunday. The accused had opened fire at Sunday Ernest Morah, who lived in the Chandra Vihar area, outside a garment shop. The victim, who sustained three bullet injuries, was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital. “On Sunday morning, he succumbed to his injuries. Section of murder has been added to the FIR,” a police officer said. PTI
Man stabs wife to death
Gurugram: A man was arrested for allegedly stabbing his wife to death after brutally thrashing her at their house in Sohna’s Pahad Colony, the police said on Sunday. It is alleged that around 10.30 pm on Saturday, a fight broke out between Ajay Kumar (40) and his wife Rakhi (36). Ajay and his brother thrashed Rakhi, forced her to drink alcohol and later stabbed her to death with a knife, the woman’s brother alleged in his complaint. An FIR was registered and Ajay was arrested on Sunday.
