Delhi lads bagged maximum points on the basis of their first innings lead by playing a draw against Chandigarh during the Vijay Merchant U-16 Trophy match at KSCA, Shimoga. The local lads had posted 161 runs in their first innings, while Delhi replied back with 181. In the second innings, the local lads posted 257, but Delhi maintained a clean record by scoring 126/4 to draw the match. Skipper Daksh Kashyap scored a century for Chandigarh, but an 87-run partnership between Shivansh Gosain and Prince Mishra saved the day for Delhi, which was struggling at 39/4.

At one point, Chandigarh had lost half of its team for 9. However, a 189-run partnership between Kashyap and Shubham Verma helped the side to revive. Kashyap scored 108 , while Verma scored. Nakul Yadav (6/82) emerged as the most successful bowler for the bowling side, while Dhruv Bindra picked 3/58.

Chasing the target, Parth (2/28) and Kabir (2/32) derailed Delhi’s top order and reduced the side to 39/4. However, a patient 87-run partnership between Gosain and Prince stabled Delhi innings. Gosain scored unbeaten 43 and Mishra added 34. Chandigarh is currently in second place with eight points with one win and one draw in the tournament. UT colts are scheduled to play their next match against Punjab.
