Delhi court to hear Khedkar’s plea today
New Delhi, July 30
A Delhi court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing for Wednesday on the anticipatory bail moved by trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar accused of misrepresenting and falsifying facts in her application for the UPSC examination.
Additional Sessions Judge Devender Kumar Jangala of Patiala House Courts adjourned the matter for Wednesday on the grounds that Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) Atul Srivastava was not available on Tuesday.
Advocate Bina Madhavan counsel for Khedkar told the court that the IAS officer was losing her opportunity to respond to the show-cause notice issued by the UPSC with each passing day. However, senior advocate Naresh Kaushik, appearing for the UPSC (complainant), called this argument “factually incorrect” and requested that the bail plea be argued in the presence of the SPP.
Khedkar had joined the Pune Collectorate as part of her probationary training in June. She is alleged to have misused quotas under the OBC and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) categories to clear the Civil Services Examination (CSE).
