Delhi CM unaware of paddy straw, passing buck on farmers: Badoli
Interacting with the media on the sideline of a programme related to BJP’s membership drive, state party president Mohan Lal Badoli took a jibe at Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, and criticised her statement on stubble burning. “Atishi has likely never seen paddy straw in her life and she does not know about it. Instead of making baseless statements on stubble burning, she should visit farmers’ fields to see how stubble is generated and utilised. She avoids addressing the responsibility of controlling pollution and blames farmers for it,” he said.
Lauding the efforts of farmers, he said, “Farmers in our country are now more aware and are both patriotic and environmentally conscious. In Haryana, farmers have been provided with numerous tools and equipment for stubble management to address this issue effectively.”
Badoli highlighted the issue of delay in the appointment of the Leader of Opposition in the Haryana Assembly and claimed that the Congress was in a very weak position, and even political analysts and journalists frequently questioned its relevance.
Asked about the statement of Pundri MLA Satpal Jamba on social media, the state BJP president advised him to refrain from such statements. “I have seen that statement. As a public representative, one should refrain from making such comments. It was an immature statement, and my suggestion to him is to avoid such remarks,” he said.
On the joining of former AAP leader and ex-Delhi minister Kailash Gahlot joining the BJP, Badoli said, “Peopla are joining the BJP due to its policies. This reflects the growing faith in the BJP and the expansion of its family.”
He also rejected the statement claiming that the number of poor people in Haryana had increased over the past decade. “The number of poor people has actually reduced, contrary to Congress' claims,” he said.
Addressing party workers, he said, “Every six years, we renew the memberships of existing BJP members and add new members to our organisation. This year, the BJP has introduced a digital method, allowing members to join via a phone number issued by the party."
“If someone calls the membership number twice, they receive a message confirming their prior membership, along with their membership ID. Each person can register only once during the campaign,” he said.
Badoli also highlighted the success of the campaign through the NaMo app, stating, "Over 10 lakh members in Haryana have joined the BJP digitally. The party operates over 20,000 booths across Haryana."
He emphasised the BJP government's commitment to the welfare of the poor and youth. “Our government has worked responsibly to uplift people from poverty. We have implemented numerous initiatives to create jobs for unemployed youth and provide them with employment opportunities.”
He also expressed the BJP's ambition for a "triple-engine government" in Haryana. “With a double-engine government already in place, our goal is to form a triple-engine government that includes the municipal corporations, councils, and municipalities. We will contest and win these elections, continuing our development agenda in the state,” he added.
