Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva on Tuesday alleged that 14 Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports would highlight "irregularities" under the AAP-led government which had been deliberately “suppressed”.

Sachdeva called for a special Assembly session on Saturday, December 21, to table these reports.

“It is ironic that Arvind Kejriwal, who began his political career by demanding the public release of CAG reports during the Commonwealth Games, has been avoiding the presentation of these reports for over two years,” said Sachdeva.

He added that the same AAP government, which once accused private power companies of corruption, now appears to be shielding them.

Sachdeva added that CAG had presented 14 critical reports between 2017-18 and 2021-22, detailing irregularities in areas such as excise duty on liquor and pollution control. “These reports hold governments accountable and are admissible in courts. Yet, Kejriwal suppressed these, knowing they would expose numerous financial scams,” he stated.

The BJP leader also alleged that the “suppression” implicated not only the AAP-led Cabinet but also senior leaders like former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. “Just as Kejriwal previously suppressed the reports, Atishi is doing the same now,” he claimed.

“For two years, BJP MLAs have demanded that these reports be tabled in the Assembly. When Kejriwal remained unresponsive, we filed a petition in the Delhi High Court,” he said, referring to the October 29 petition by BJP MLAs led by Vijender Gupta.

“After the CAG's affidavit exposed the truth, the AAP government finally admitted in court that it was their responsibility to seek the Lieutenant-Governor’s approval to table the reports. However, they allowed the final Assembly session to end on December 4 without presenting these,” he remarked.

Sachdeva urged the Assembly Speaker to convene a special session solely to table these reports. “We hope that after these 14 CAG reports come to light, investigations will be inevitable, and the truth about the Kejriwal government's scams will be revealed to Delhi residents,” he said.
