DC unfurls national flag in Tarn Taran
Tarn Taran, January 27
On the 75th Republic Day, a district-level programme was organised at the police playground where Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar unfurled the national flag here on Friday.
The Deputy Commissioner inspected the parade led by SP, Tarn Taran, Rishabh Bhola and took salute from the contingents of the Punjab Police, woman platoon of the police and school students. District and Sessions Judge Priya Sood, SSP Ashwani Kapur, and Tarn Taran MLA Dr Kashmir Singh Sohal were among others who participated in the function.
Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar in his address on the occasion recalled the sacrifices of our freedom fighters who laid down their lives to maintain the security and integrity of the country. The DC also spoke on public welfare works of the state government and talked of the Aam Aadmi Clinics, Schools of Eminence, releasing of Rs 1 crore to the families of the Army men who laid down their lives for the country.
On the occasion, the families of freedom fighters were honoured. Deserving women were given sewing machines and Diviangs tri-cycles. Members of the village level security committees of Khemkaran, Rajoke and Narli too were honoured. The persons with remarkable performance were honoured by the Deputy Commissioner. Additional Deputy Commissioner Varinder Pal Singh Bajwa, Tarn Taran SDM Simranjit Singh, District Revenue Officers, and Chief Agriculture Officer Dr Harpal Singh Pannu too were present on the occasion.
