The Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA) of Sector 23 held a meeting to discuss the problems and issues being faced by locals in Bhiwani.

The meeting was presided over by RWA president Sajjan Singla. Rakesh Nehra, the legal advisor of the RWA and former president of Tosham Bar Association, said they had decided to hold a meeting after receiving a number of grievances from the residents. He said there were a number of problems pertaining to the condition of roads, streetlights and sewerage in the sector. Damaged roads, defunct streetlights, inefficient sewerage and monkey menace were some of the key issues highlighted during the meeting.

Nehra said the presence of monkeys in almost every locality had created terror in the sector as there had been several incidents wherein the residents had been bitten by the simians. Besides, the wild grass and bushes had grown on vacant plots that had led to infestation of mosquitoes.

Besides, Sector 23 (extension), which has several vacant areas, has turned into a safe haven for drug addicts. He said they had urged the police to ensure patrolling in the area. President Singla said they would again meet the district administration authorities to raise these issues and demand resolution of the problems.
