After the conviction, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla targeted AAP, asserting, “Today, AAP doesn’t mean Aam Aadmi Party. It means ‘Anarchist Aapradhik Party’.” He highlighted Jarwal’s conviction as indicative of a broader culture of criminality within the party.
Poonawalla emphasised the party’s alleged history of criminal conduct, stating, “He is not the first leader in their party who has been convicted. So, committing crime and spreading anarchy has become their character.”
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva and Leader of Opposition Ramvir Singh Bidhuri echoed Poonawalla’s sentiments in a joint press conference, condemning Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership of AAP.
Expressing dismay over the party’s image, Sachdeva remarked, “Once again, the dark side of the AAP’s face has come to light with the conviction of Jarwal.”
Sachdeva alleged, “The Jal Board is a den of corruption and due to this, the doctor lost his life. We have already said that Kejriwal’s party is of criminals. Sanjeev Jha, Akhilesh Tripathi, Amanatullah Khan, and there are many more names.”
