An FIR has been registered against them.

“These arrests are part of a larger and more comprehensive campaign launched under the directives of Swapan Sharma, Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar,” said police officials, adding that this initiative was specifically aimed at rooting out illegal gambling networks that have been operating across the city.

They said Commissioner Sharma had made it clear that this campaign was a top priority for the police force, instructing all gazetted officers and SHOs to ensure that those involved in these illicit activities were brought to justice.

“The ongoing campaign is expected to continue with even greater intensity in the coming weeks as we work to dismantle the networks behind the operations and restore law and order in the city. Sharma has issued a stern warning to those involved in such activities, emphasising that no one will be spared in this concerted effort to eradicate illegal gambling from Jalandhar”, they added.
