The Jalandhar Commissionerate of Police has ramped up efforts to enforce traffic rules, continuing its special drive, targeting violators across the city.

The drive, held on Monday from 5pm to 9pm, was led by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Model Town, Sirivennela.

The police laid a naka and checked vehicles near PPR Mall, focusing on those flouting traffic laws. The operation was carried out by the SHO of Police Station Division Number 7, in collaboration with the Emergency Response System (ERS) team.

The aim of the crackdown was to ensure public safety by enforcing strict compliance with traffic rules, particularly among two-wheeler riders. In the four-hour drive, officers checked 90 vehicles and issued 20 challans.

Violations included six cases of triple riding, four vehicles without number plates, five riders without helmets and five vehicles using illegal black window films.

The police have vowed to continue these efforts, with a commitment to making city roads safer for everyone.
