CPI protests Centre’s anti-people policies
Hundreds of members of the CPI held a massive rally against the anti-people policies of the Central Government here yesterday from the Panchayat Bhawan to Chaura Maidan, near the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar. After the rally, the members took part in the three-day conference at Kalibari.
Former MP Subhashini Ali said, “Since 2014, India has become divided into two nations — one for the wealthy and another for the impoverished. The gap between the rich and the poor has deepened.”
She said, “The rich enjoy all privileges, while the poor are being exploited. In the past one decade, the Central Government has consistently stripped the working class of its rights, removed subsidies for farmers and common people. About 44 labour laws have been abolished and replaced with four labour codes that are seen as detrimental to workers.”
