Bains highlights patients’ woes
Meanwhile, the Lok Insaaf Party leader Simarjit Singh Bains visited various hospitals to enquire after Covid patients. “Many audio and video clips were going viral regarding the problems being faced by the Covid patients and their families. Bains visited the DMCH, CMCH and GTB Hospital.
“People are scared of the disease and patients are getting harassed at the hospitals. Today, I met families of the Covid patients who were having a difficult time in hospitals. One person who not given the body of his family member as he did not have money,” he said.
He asked why patients were not allowed to call their family and friends from the hospital. It is very unfortunate to know that some unscrupulous are trying to make a quick buck amidst this pandemic situation, he added.
Patients from the Civil Hospital are referred to the Government Rajindra Hospital, Patiala. However, people from weaker sections of society are unable to go there, he added.
