The Sarabha Nagar police on Friday registered a fraud case against a couple. After striking a property deal, the suspects took money from the buyer and then refused to execute the property registration.

They have been identified as Gurwinderpal Singh and his wife Gurmeet Kaur, residents of Punjab Housing Board Colony, BRS Nagar.

The complainant in the case, Munish Goyal, a resident of Sarabha Nagar, said the couple had struck a deal to sell their house and in lieu, they had taken Rs 16 lakh in advance. Despite taking the money, they refused to transfer the property ownership. At the time of the property registration, they started making excuses. Despite repeated requests, the couple neither executed property registration nor they return the money.
