Couple booked for barging into house, attacking realtor, wife

Tha Police Division 3 on Sunday registered a cross case against a couple who had attacked a family after barging into their house at Hargobind Nagar here on November 28.

The suspects have been identified as Rakhi Mittal and her husband Rajesh Mittal, residents of Shivaji Nagar. They are yet to be arrested in the case.

City-based realtor Jaswinder Singh, a resident of Hargobind Nagar, said on November 28 while he was parking

his Toyota Fortuner outside his house, the couple came on a Honda Activa scooter. They had to cross the road.

The duo started heated arguments with him. He did not make any argument rather the woman, Rakhi, created a ruckus by blaming him for parking big vehicles on the road and blocking the way for people, he said

“I had requested the woman to stop arguing but she continued the same and abused me. Later when my two sister-in-laws came out, she attacked them badly. My wife and me were also attacked by the couple, who barged into our house. CCTV cameras captured the incident, he said.

But to our surprise, the police had registered a case against me and my four family members on November 28 without conducting proper investigation. When we got to know about the registration of the FIR against us on fake allegations, I lodged a complaint with the DCP, Ludhiana, and on whose orders, now a cross case was registered by the police against the couple and I was assured that justice would be delivered,” he said.

The complainant said the couple had also taken away part of his broken gold chain, which they tried to snatch from him during the incident.

“Now, I would give another application to the Commissioner of Police to seek cancellation of the FIR registered against me and family members,” Jaswinder added.
