Health Department creates awareness
Three teams of the Civil Surgeon office visited containment zones and private educational institutions to make people aware about free Covid sampling done by the Health Department. Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga, Civil Surgeon, Ludhiana, said, “There are many myths and queries in minds of the people about testing. To give people relief the mass media teams of Civil Surgeon office are visiting different places in the city and interacting with people one to one and resolving their dilemmas.”
“People believe that if they have mild fever or cough then they will be Covid positive for sure. They have to visit hospital for giving samples. If their report is positive, they will be admitted to hospital for 14 days. However, the government is amending the guidelines according to the need and comfort of citizens. So, people should understand that they can give their samples at special camps also, where coronavius testing is done free of cost,” Dr Bagga added.
“Also, it is not mandatory that if anyone has fever, cough or any other symptoms then he/she will be Covid positive. Most importantly home isolation facility is there for positive asymptomatic people. People can fill a form signed by their caretaker and get home isolated,” Dr Bagga said.
