Coronavirus: HP’s Sirmaur reports 14 more cases, district tally rises to 144

Fourteen people, including two children, tested positive for coronavirus in Nahan in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh late Wednesday evening, taking the district’s case tally to 144.

The district currently has 104 active cases.

DC Sirmaur, Dr RK Pruthi, said those who tested positive include 8 men—aged 13 to 76– and 6 women—aged 13 to 42. They hail from Gobindgarh Mohalla in Nahan and have been shifted to COVID care centre at Sangrah.

Pruthi said intensive sampling of 1,200 residents of this Mohalla was underway since Saturday after 10 people, who had attended a wedding, tested positive for the contagion. As many as 87 people have already tested positive so far and about 900 have been sampled.
