The complainant, the ASI, said Sonu was wanted by the Daba police in a criminal case registered against him in April this year. Since he was an investigating officer at the police station, he, along with ASI Sohan Das, was present at the office of the Commissioner of Police. When he saw the suspect at the gate, the latter was asked to receive a summons regarding the criminal case. Instead of receiving the same, he, along with others, started heated arguments with him. Later, they attacked him. His police uniform was also torn. Later, they fled the scene. Now, a fresh case was registered against the suspect and further action would be taken as per law.

The ASI said once the suspect was arrested, the unidentified persons accompanying him would also be identified and their names would be added to the already registered FIR.
