Hold meeting on Chamiana hospital functioning, CS told
The HP High Court today directed the Chief Secretary to convene a meeting of all the stakeholders for best utility and functioning of super specialty hospital at Chamiana in Shimla district.
While passing this order, a division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan and Justice Satyen Vaidya observed, "We are of the considered view that the question of utility and functioning of the hospital at Chamiana, Shimla district, cannot be left to the wisdom and discretion of a single individual or a group of individuals. All the stakeholders are required to be associated in deciding as to how best the hospital at Chamiana can be utilized."
It further directed the Chief Secretary to convene a meeting of all the stakeholders by including the Advocate General or his nominee, Medical Superintendent, IGMC, Principal, IGMC, Shimla, heads of all the departments, super specialties, representative(s) of the doctors’ association, representative(s) of the para medical staff and security, Director General of Police; Managing Director, HRTC, Secretary and Engineer-in-Chief (PWD), Secretary (Health) and Secretary Revenue and Senior Advocate Bimal Gupta members of civil society and NGOs.
It further directed the Chief Secretary to convene a meeting on November 11 and place the minutes of the meeting before the court on November 13.
