Constitution Day celebrated at Nehru Yuva Kendra
Nehru Yuva Kendra, Amritsar, organised a programme to celebrate Constitution Day at Government ITI Lopoke, Chogawan, Amritsar. College principal Jatinder Singh was the chief guest on the occasion.
The programme commenced by paying floral tributes and traditional lighting of the lamp. District Youth Officer Aakansha Mahaveriya welcomed the guests and youth. In her address, she informed the youth about the importance of the Indian Constitution. She emphasised that all rights and privileges being enjoyed by people in the country was because of the Constitution. She highlighted the importance of fundamental rights and duties to the young minds.
She informed the young participants about the upcoming Viksit Bharat challenge dialogue in which youth in the 15 to 29 year age-group would get an opportunity to express their ideas in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the National Youth Festival.
Simranjeet Kaur told the youth about the importance of Constitution, how the Constitution was needed to tie the country in a thread after independence, what obstacles were faced before the the Constitution was framed and its history. The Constitution came into being after working continuously for two years, 11 months and 18 days under the chairmanship of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar.
During the programme, painting and speech competition, reading of Preamble and a march was organised.
The National Anthem was sung at the end and 250 youth took part in it. Nehru Yuva Kendra thanked all the guests and youth present in the programme for making it successful.
