A security guard was allegedly thrashed by a police constable for objecting to wrong parking on the PGI campus yesterday. The victim, Vinod Kumar was on duty in the parking lot outside the Director’s office, Kairon Block. Around 9.20 pm, the constable parked his car in front of the gate blocking the way. When the security guard objected to it, the policeman allegedly started thrashing him.

Vinod informed his seniors and the police. His medical examination was conducted at the Government Multi-Speciality Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16. The incident was caught on a CCTV camera. The victim has lodged a complaint with the PGI police post.

Today, the security guards staged a protest over the delay in registering an FIR into the incidents.
