Congress will put Faridabad on development track: Bhupinder Singh Hooda

Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has claimed that development of the Faridabad city on fast track would resume as soon as the Congress takes over in the state after the elections.

Speaking as chief guest at the function to mark the death anniversary of late Pt Shiv Charan Lal Sharma, a former minister, here today, Hooda said that while the legacy of the late leader was being carried forward by his son Neeraj, who is currently the MLA from NIT segment and who has been repeated from the segment, the city was in poor condition due to lack of development works in the past 10 years.

He said while the Congress is set to return to power, the problems faced by the residents here would be addressed on priority basis. He charged the BJP government of discriminating against the NIT segment and harassing the local MLA in matters of releasing the funds for development of civic amenities.

Welcoming Hooda, Neeraj Sharma said that the people are eagerly waiting for October 8 when the district and state would get rid of the misrule and misgovernance. He said besides the launch of various projects of mass welfare, the Congress government would work on the promise of connecting Gurugram and Palwal with a Metro from Faridabad. Sharma said employment to two lakh youths each year and free health facilities worth Rs 25 lakh would be provided to the citizens.

Mukesh Sharma, a former Senior Deputy Mayor, said that the city needs only three hardworking and honest officials to work on the posts of DC, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, and Commissioner of Police to ensure good and transparent administration, which he said had been missing over the past many years. The desired change and progress would be possible under Congress rule only, he said.

Hooda also released a collection of aartis (devotional songs) on the occasion. Former MLAs Sharda Rathore and Raghubir Singh Tewatia were among those present.
