Chaos ensued on the last day for filing nominations for the panchayat elections in Jalalabad as former Congress minister Hans Raj Josan, SAD district president Jagsir Singh Jaimal Singh Wala and others said that they were asked to leave the BDPO office premises when they raised the issue of denying NOCs and Chulha Tax receipts. As a result, they staged a dharna and shouted slogans against the AAP-led state government for ‘killing’ democracy.

Josan said AAP exerted influence to meddle in the panchayat elections; however, he added bullying of such sort would not be tolerated.

Earlier, AAP MLA Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy and SAD district president Jagsir Singh, alias Babbu, of Jaimal Singh Wala village came face-to-face outside the office of Block Development and Panchayat Officer on Tuesday. A day after Congress MP Sher Singh Ghubaya found the room earmarked to issue NOCs was locked from the inside when his party workers were waiting for no objection certificates. The room was eventually opened when the police intervened.
