After the State Election Commission cancelled elections in 20 Gidderbaha villages, PCC chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring urged the police to act against the officers who were involved in the alleged wrongdoings.

Warring said, “All 67 aspirants for the posts of sarpanch and panch, whose nominations were rejected, had filed complaints with the police against Muktsar DC Rajesh Tripathi, Gidderbaha SDM Jaspal Singh Brar and the returning officers. Now, if cops do not register an FIR in this regard, we will protest against them as well.” He said both the DC and the SDM should

be transferred.
