Posting a video purportedly showing a Congress MLA of Telangana offering land to anyone who can cut off Union minister Ravneet Singh Bittu's head, the Punjab BJP leader alleged that the Congress had always liked spilling the blood of Sikhs.

"1984 to 2024, Congress hasn’t changed. They sought Sikh blood then, and they seek it today as well", Bittu wrote on X on Friday while posting the video.

Bittu, Union Minister of State for Railway and Food Processing Industries, tagged the post to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and wrote, "Kharge ji Mohabbat ki Dukan?"

Top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has come up with the slogan "Mohabbat ki Dukan", denoting the Congress party and juxtaposing it with the "Nafrat ka Bazaar", meaning the BJP.

'The Tribune' could not independently verify the video posted by Bittu on X.

Rahul Gandhi, while trying to explain the problems faced by religious minorities in India in the BJP regime, had recently said at an event in Washington earlier this month that the fight in India was whether a Sikh would be allowed to wear his turban and bracelet and go to a gurdwara since the BJP was bent upon imposing its Hindu nationalistic agenda on all Indians.

This prompted Bittu, Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and other BJP and NDA leaders to launch a strong attack against Rahul Gandhi and the Congress.

The Congress has retaliated by filing an FIR against Bittu in Bengaluru.
