Cong manifesto: Sidhu promises new bus stand, hospital, fire station for Mohali

Punjab health minister Balbir Singh Sidhu on Wednesday released Congress party’s manifesto for the February 14 Municipal Corporation elections in Mohali.
Sidhu promised to make need-based policy changes and alterations in the commercial building policy, if his party comes to power.
Sidhu said a new centrally-located bus stand will be developed which will connect with the existing bus stand. He also promised cheap and effective public transport to the city residents, adding that the Landran chowk will be dedicated to the public by March 31, he added.
“If voted to power, a new Civil Hospital will also be made in the city,” he said.
He also proposed an upgradation of schools and new educational institutions in the district. A new fire station and cremation ground also figured in his list of new proposals for the city.
Most importantly, Sidhu promised free Wi-Fi service and CCTV surveillance in Mohali. The Congress leader said a dog shelter is coming up in the city and stray cattle menace will be eliminated.
