Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who visited the Jat-dominated Jharsa village on Monday here to seek support for young debutants from party Vardhan Yadav and Mohit Grover, said the voters in Gurugram did not reject them in the recently held Lok Sabha elections as it could be seen by the winning margins. He said they did not have much time to campaign and could not reach out to everyone in the Assembly segment.

Vardhan Yadav is a first-timer, who is contesting from Badshahpur and enjoys the support of Ahirs while Mohit Grover is contesting from Gurugram and has Punjabi voter base. He had contested as Independent candidate in the 2019 elections and stood second. Hooda has planned to consolidate the Jat votes for the duo and will be making more visits to Gurugram. Hooda urged the people to topple the BJP as it had been befooling the state, especially the Millennium City of Gurugram, for 10 years. “They have ruined the state and Gurugram. After mild showers, all roads are inundated. There is no sewerage, road and power, and the city is reeling under insanitary conditons. During our regime, it was a world class city, and now, it’s doomed. You have believed them for 10 years. Trust me now, send both Vardhan and Mohit to the Vidhan Sabha and we will give you the Millennium City back,” said Hooda.

He was accompanied by party’s veteran parliamentarian Raj Babbar, who is the star campaigner in Gurugram and party president Udai Bhan.
