Commission agent nabbed for raping worker

The Jagraon city police on Saturday arrested a commission agent on the charge of raping a 20-year-old married woman. The victim used to work at the shop of the suspect.

He was identified as Surinder Singh (40).

Police sources said the victim, a resident of Jagraon, was going to market on her scooter on November 22 and on the way, the agent stopped the woman. He asked her to accompany him to a dhaba to buy food. After taking her to the eatery, he asked the woman to sit in a room and later, he locked it from inside and raped her. The suspect also threatened her of dire consequences if she informs anybody about the act. After committing the crime, he dropped the victim at the bus stand where she had parked her scooter. A case of rape was registered against the man. `
