To showcase and uplift the talents of Class II students, Police DAV Public School, Police Line, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, organised a vibrant talent show. The event fostered a healthy competitive spirit among the students and highlighted their unique strengths. The show was divided into three categories — dancing, singing and acting. Students performed mesmerizing routines to popular retro dance numbers and traditional folk songs. Their energy captivated the audience, leaving everyone in awe. Performances were judged on creativity, expression, confidence and overall execution. Participants impressed the crowd with their thrilling flips, jumps and attractive props. Winners were awarded titles such as Dynamic Dancer, Dazzling Dancer, Fabulous Dancer, Decent Dancer, Mesmerizing Singer, Melodious Singer, Energetic Singer, Superb Actor, Magnetic Actor and Talented Actor at the event.

Teachers’ workshop at BCM School

BCM School, Basant Avenue, Dugri, Ludhiana, organised an insightful workshop on ‘Happtitude’ for its teachers. Resource persons Isha Mehta and Navneet Kaur emphasised the importance of inner happiness in leading a fulfilling life. They discussed how effectively managing stress and nurturing positivity can foster inner wellbeing. Practical tips on embracing one’s inner child, cultivating beauty inside and out and building emotional resilience were shared. The session encouraged teachers to reflect on their values and develop unique inner strengths for a balanced life. The principal, Dr Vandna Shahi highlighted the significance of such workshops in promoting harmony at both school and home.

Dental check-up camp

In collaboration with Baba Jaswant Singh Dental College and Hospital, Darshan Academy organised a free dental check-up camp for students in classes IX to XII. The camp provided students with dental examinations, consultations and advice on maintaining oral hygiene. Dental professionals offered treatment recommendations and addressed individual concerns. The principal, Rajdeep Kaur Aulakh emphasised the importance of oral health and expressed gratitude to the dental professionals for empowering students to prioritize dental care.

Asees Singh shines at eco-hackathon

Asees Singh, a Class IX student from DAV Public School Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana, was selected among the top 35 innovators to participate in the Eco-Hackathon National-Level Showcase in Delhi on December 17. The Eco-Creativity and Innovation Hackathon, organised by Pi Jam Foundation and Amazon Future Engineer in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), received over 4 lakh student participants and more than 1.9 lakh innovative ideas aimed at promoting environmental sustainability. Asees’s idea to combat air pollution by converting smoke into useful products like black ink, fabric paint and hair dye stood out and earned him mentorship and a cash prize of Rs 10,000. His approach has also earned him the opportunity to patent his product.

Guru Nanak Dev College reunion

The 1994-1998 batch of Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana, celebrated their silver jubilee reunion with great enthusiasm. The event was marked by nostalgia and appreciation for the contributions alumni have made to society. The principal, Dr Sehijpal Singh welcomed the alumni, encouraging them to stay connected with their alma mater. The event was carefully planned and professionally anchored by Dr Harmeet Singh, a professor and alumnus of the batch. One of the key highlights was the distribution of commemorative mementos to attendees. The alumni also announced their plan to financially support the development of a state-of-the-art lab at the college. The programme included an interactive session where alumni shared their current professional achievements and reminisced about their college days.

CT University’s 2nd alumni meet

CT University’s Alumni Association, under the Department of Student Welfare, hosted its 2nd Alumni Meet 2024. The event saw over 170 alumni from various batches and disciplines reconnecting with their alma mater. Distinguished dignitaries, including the vice-chancellor, Dr Abhishek Tripathi and the director of the Department of Student Welfare, Er. Davinder Singh, were present. Dr Tripathi delivered an address, highlighting the importance of alumni engagement in the university’s growth and development. The meet offered alumni a chance to share their experiences, celebrate their success stories and reconnect with old friends.
