A ‘Student Mental Health Conclave’ was organised to empower youth so that they can enjoy a mentally healthy and substance abuse-free future. Dikshant Sharma, Field Expert, Substance Abuse Prevention and MV, spoke about topics such as anxiety, depression, academic pressure, and the impact of social media on mental health. The session hailed peer support groups for encouragement and emphasised the need to remove stigma around mental health issues in educational settings.

Narsee Monjee Institute

An inter-college quiz, MANIFEST-2024, attracted 340 participants across 170 teams from prestigious institutions such as MCM DAV College, Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11, GGDSD College, Sector 32, Amity University (Mohali), DPS, and Panjab University, among others. Abhyuday Rana and Ayush Krishan from NMIMS won the first prize. The event concluded with an award ceremony, during which 15 teams received prizes, while the organising committee members were also honoured.

Post Graduate Govt College, Sec-46

The Department of Computer Applications organised a workshop on ‘Vedic Mathematics and Career Counselling’. Principal Prof JK Sehgal welcomed speakers — Sudhir Grover, Director, and Arpana Grover, a seasoned professional of Infomaths Studies Pvt Limited. Aparna provided guidance to the students for their successful careers. The workshop introduced brainstorming techniques conducive to breaking down mental barriers and nurturing out-of-the box thinking among students.

Chitkara University

The university has made its Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings-2025 debut by attaining the first rank in research quality in India and is positioned in the 601–800 band among over 2,000 universities worldwide. Additionally, Chitkara University is ranked 9th nationally. The citation impact places it among the top 139 institutions globally, emphasising its influential research that consistently pushes the boundaries of knowledge. ChD Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri

The CGC has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with San Jose State University, US, to provide new opportunities for students for receiving high-quality education and gain international exposure. The pact with allow both universities to introduce dual-degree programmes to enhance international career prospects for the students.

PG Government College, Sector 46

The Department of Business Administration and the Department of Commerce organised an Inter-College Fest, ‘Bizmozeke’. The event featured a variety of engaging competitions, including boardroom brainstorming, capital quest, rapid rhetoric, madvertese battle, and creative canvas challenge. Students from various government and private colleges participated in the programmes. The top three winners of each competition were awarded trophies and certificates.

Aryans Group of Colleges

The fourth Shikara Race of the group was organised at Dal Lake, Srinagar. Imtiyaz Hussain Akhoon claimed the first position, while Adil Ahmad Sheikh finished at the second position. John Mohammed Khan claimed third position, followed by Firdous Ahmad Khan and Ashiq Hussain Moti at fourth and fifth positions, respectively. Chairman Dr Anshu Katatia, Chairman, awarded the winners.

Chandigarh University

Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya inaugurated the university’s annual tech fest, Tech Invent-2024. The event brought together young minds from all over the country to foster innovation across diverse domains. With nearly 20,000 registrations from over 1,500 top-ranked universities and educational institutions like IITs, NITs, IIITs and IIMs across the country, the two-day national-level extravaganza is witnessing an impressive turnout of students from diversify fields of engineering, management, mass communication, hotel management, fine arts, law, science and technology, fashion designing, industrial design and architecture from all over India.
