College notes: Fateh Singh house lift trophy
Ludhiana: Students representing different Houses — Sahibzada Ajit Singh House, Sahibzada Jujhar Singh House, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh House, Sahibzada Fateh Singh House and Mata Gujar Kaur House -- took part in various sports disciplines in the 19th Athletics Meet of Amrit Indo-Canadian Academy. Fateh Singh House lifted the champion’s trophy while Ajit Singh House secured the runners-up trophy. Principal Jaskiran Kaur, vice-principal Jaspreet Grewal and Navjot Singh, director of the academy, congratulated the winners.
Win for Guru Nanak school students
Ludhiana: Students of Guru Nanak International Public School, Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar branch, made their presence felt in the Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex (LSSC) Athletics Meet held at GMT Public School ground, Kakowal. They won a total of 30 medals including 6 gold, 16 silver and 8 bronze medals and secured the first runners-up trophy in the boys’ U-19 section in addition to the second runners-up trophy in the U-17 section. The school management congratulated the students on the achievement.
SD College students clinch medals
Ludhiana: Yuvraj Arora and Ujala, both students of BA-I at Kamla Lohtia Sanatan Dharam College brought fame to their alma mater by winning medals in the Panjab University Inter-College Weightlifting Championship, held at Panjab University campus, Chandigarh. Yuvraj secured a silver medal in the below 90 kg weight category and Ujala clinched a bronze medal in the below 56 kg weight section. Principal Dr Mohammed Saleem appreciated the students on their achievement. He along with members of the college managing committee congratulated them and Dr Rohit Kumar, head of the physical education department.
Silver for BVM school boys in yoga
Ludhiana: Students of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir (BVM) Senior Secondary School, Udham Singh Nagar branch, brought recognition to their school by winning silver medals in the state-level yoga competition organised by the Punjab School Education Department under the aegis of School Games Federation of India (SGFI) at Abohar. Diyanshu Yadav, student of Class VII and Gourav Singh Rawat, student of Class X, finished as runners-up in the U-14 and U-17 categories, in artistic yoga and secured silver medals. Principal Seema Gupta congratulated the students on the achievement.
