The Health and Family Welfare Department, Chamba, conducted a district-level monthly review meeting of Block Medical Officers at Chamba on Wednesday.

The meeting was chaired by Chief Medical Officer Dr Bipen Thakur. Briefing the meeting, Dr Thakur talked about the 100-day TB Eradication Campaign, launched on December 7.

He said the campaign focused on screening individuals over 60 years of age, family members living close to TB patients, malnourished individuals, and those with severe conditions such as diabetes and HIV. He emphasised the use of Nikshay vehicles and the organisation of special camps at Ayush Wellness Centres for TB screening.

ASHA workers were actively identifying potential TB patients and ensuring their participation in these camps, he added. The CMO also evaluated monthly reports submitted by Block Medical Officers, reviewed ongoing schemes under the aspirational district programme, and urged further progress in implementing these initiatives.

He also called for enhanced outreach to ensure that every individual benefitted from government welfare schemes.
