CM: With eye on Haryana poll, BJP misleading people
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today lashed out at the BJP for allegedly making communal statements and misleading people with an eye on the Haryana Assembly elections.
He said, “The BJP should not mislead people for political gains. The water charges in rural areas have primarily been imposed on big five star hotels, commercial complexes and big private institutions, which were being supplied water free of cost.”
Sukhu said, “There is no substance in the allegations being levelled by BJP leaders. Sometimes they talk of Hindu-Muslim conflicts and at other times about extra charges on sewerage connections, which are totally baseless.” He added that the BJP leaders’ baseless statements reflected their desperation to win elections at any cost.
Sukhu said the previous BJP regime had waived charges on water supply in rural areas, which was not in the interest of the state.
