CM takes feedback from officers ahead of reshuffle
Ahead of a major reshuffle of IAS officers that affected today, the state government had taken feedback about major issues and development projects in their districts from several Deputy Commissioners (DCs).
Sources claimed that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini called a number of DCs at his residence in Chandigarh on Saturday and interacted with them over main issues and development projects in their respective districts. He also sought suggestions from the officers to resolve the issues at the earliest.
Appreciates Good work
- Sources said CM Nayab Singh Saini appreciated the work of those DCs who are performing well. He also advised them to carry on this momentum and ensure good governance
- They pointed out that the exercise aimed not only to encourage efficient officers, but also to receive their feedback and suggestions to bring more reforms at the administrative level
“This was for the first time when such sort of ‘feedback-taking’ exercise was carried out by the Chief Minister before the shifting of IAS officers. The CM appreciated the work of those DCs who are performing well. He also advised them to carry on this momentum in future as well to ensure good governance,” said the sources.
Sources pointed out that the exercise aimed not only to encourage efficient officers ahead of the reshuffle but also to receive their feedback and suggestions in one-on-one meetings to bring more reforms at administrative level.
“During the exercise, some of the DCs apprised the CM of the steps they have taken not only to expedite the execution of development projects but also to resolve public grievances. Interestingly, some of them also shared ideas with the CM for administrative reforms,” the sources added.
The sources claimed that the majority of those IAS officers who were called in Chandigarh on Saturday were shifted on Sunday. They were not surprised to find their names on the transfer list as they got the clue about it at the meeting. As many as 27 IAS officers were shifted today and many districts got new Deputy Commissioners. Before the reshuffle of IAS officers, the state government had already issued the orders for the appointment of Vivek Joshi, a 1989 batch senior-most IAS officer of the Haryana cadre, on the post of Chief Secretary.
Besides being Chief Secretary, Joshi will be incharge of general administration, personnel and training, parliamentary affairs and plan coordination. Similarly, Gurugram DC Nishant Kumar Yadav, a 2013-batch IAS officer, has already been appointed as DC, Chandigarh.
