Days after nearly 80 structures were damaged in a massive fire in Warwan area of Kishtwar district in Jammu division, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has sanctioned Rs 1.70 crore for the victims of the tragedy.

In a letter, Director Finance has written to the Kishtwar Deputy Commissioner that Chief Minister has sanctioned an amount of Rs 170 lakh out of J&K Relief Fund as financial assistance in favour of the fire affected sufferers of Mulwarwan that took place on October 14.

Besides administration, many NGOs from the region are working for relief and rehabilitation of the fire affected locals. The administration is also racing against time as winters will arrive soon in the region which witnesses heavy snowfall during the time.

Omar Abdullah along with Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary had visited the village where fire tragedy had taken place and assured financial assistance.
