Cleanliness rally at Hall Bazaar promotes proper waste management
Under the “Swachhata Hi Seva” programme, the Amritsar Municipal Corporation in collaboration with Finnilup Institute, Hindu Sabha School, DAV School and Daya Nand ITI organised a cleanliness rally in Hall Bazaar and Central Zone of the MC to promote awareness about cleanliness and proper waste management.
“We want to inculcate the habit of keeping our city clean and segregating waste among the citizens,” said Dr Kiran Kumar, Health Officer, MC. “Today’s rally is a step towards achieving that goal.”
The rally was aimed at educating people on the importance of separating wet and dry garbage and disposing of it in designated dustbins and garbage carts. Avtar Singh Ghulla, Brand Ambassador, Swachh Bharat Mission Amritsar, emphasised, “Cleanliness is everyone’s responsibility. We must work together to keep our city clean and beautiful.”
Sukhdev Singh, Community Facilitator, added, “We are glad to see students and residents participating in the rally. It’s a positive sign for a cleaner Amritsar.”
The event saw participation from students, teachers and residents who carried placards and banners with cleanliness slogans. Dr Kiran Kumar, Health Officer, Municipal Corporation, said, “It’s essential to involve children in such initiatives as they can influence their families and communities to adopt clean habits.”
The rally concluded with a pledge to maintain cleanliness and promote the message of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ in the city.
