Civic body officials take stock of cleanliness in city
After Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal issued strict instructions to ensure cleanliness across the city, MC Zonal Commissioners conducted inspections in their respective areas on Tuesday and took feedback from the residents regarding sanitation.
MC Commissioner Dachalwal had conducted surprise inspections in different areas of the city on Monday, following which the zonal commissioners, superintendents, Chief Sanitary Inspectors (CSI), Sanitation Inspector (SI) among other officials were directed to conduct inspections in their respective areas to take stock of the situation at the ground level. A roster was also prepared for conducting inspections in various wards of the city.
Joint Commissioner-cum-Zonal Commissioner (Zone A) Chetan Bunger, Joint Commissioner-cum-Zonal Commissioner (Zone D) Abhishek Sharma and Assistant Commissioner-cum-Zonal Commissioner (Zone B) Neeraj Jain conducted inspections in their respective areas on Tuesday.
Joint Commissioner Bunger conducted inspections on Noorwala road and Joint Commissioner Sharma conducted inspections in the Dugri area. Assistant Commissioner Jain conducted inspections at Tajpur road, Shakti Nagar among other areas.
They were accompanied by CSIs among other staffers of the civic body. The officials checked the attendance of the employees, cleanliness among other issues. They also took feedback from the residents regarding sweeping, door to door collection of garbage etc. The officials also checked the green belts/parks in the respective areas and issued necessary instructions to ensure cleanliness.
Similarly Superintendents Abdul Sattar, Satish Kumar among others also conducted inspections in the designated areas. CSIs, SIs also checked the attendance of sweepers in their respective areas.
Dachalwal said no laxity would be tolerated in terms of sanitation, door-to-door lifting etc. and strict instructions have been issued to the staff regarding the same. The horticulture staff has also been directed to ensure cleanliness in parks and green belts across the city. Zonal Commissioners, Superintendents, CSIs, SIs etc have been directed to monitor the situation on a daily basis and he would also be conducting surprise inspections to take stock of the situation.
