City lad Lavith Verma, a student of DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, brought fame to the city by securing two gold medals in the 34th Sub-Junior Punjab State Artistic and Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, held on November 23 and 24 at Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Indoor Hall, Fatehgarh Sahib.

Lavith, a trainee of the senior gymnastic coach of Punjab Sports Department, competed in individual apparatus disciplines and made his presence felt. He proved too good for his opponents in the floor exercise and table vault events. Lavith earned praise from his mentor, Prem Singh. DSO Kuldeep Chugh congratulated Lavith and his coach on bringing laurels to the city.
