Deepin Chitkara from Ludhiana helped Indian Universities XI log four-wicket win against Australian Universities XI in a T20 match in the bilateral cricket series played at DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai.

Batting first, the visitors scored 130 runs. Deepin bowled two overs, gave away 10 runs and took one wicket. Indian Universities XI achieved the target after losing six wickets in 16.2 overs. Deepin remained unbeaten at 53 off 24 balls.

Deepin, a student of BA final year at Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, was selected for this series on the basis of his outstanding performance in the North Zone Inter-Universities Cricket Tournament and All-India One-Day Cricket Tournament for Vizzy Trophy Championship.

Deepin, an all-rounder, right-hand batsman and right-arm spinner, said: “This win will help team gain more confidence in the remaining matches. We’re looking forward to carrying this momentum”.
