Chandigarh airport is the first airport in the country to offer such incentive in domestic air travel, which would facilitate passengers for not standing in queue for a longer duration.

Vini Mahajan said Chandigarh International Airport, in its endeavour to facilitate its passengers, had upgraded itself with technological enhancement in the field of baggage handling with the installation of this in-line baggage screening system. She said it could handle 1,500 bags per hour. With the new system in place, passengers no longer needed to queue up for baggage screening. The system would save an average five to 10 minutes per passenger.
